LES AMPHORES

Price upon request

These vases are found in the island of Delos. Delos was a big economic and religious centre in the ancient world. I did a similar painting for my solo show in Mykonos but this time I tried to change the colours and make more complicated structures. In the back we can see architectural elements typical of Greek churches.

MICHAEL JACKSON

Price upon request

This painting is representing some Kurdish female fighters, fighting against ISIS. I named it Michael Jackson cause one of my friends that saw it for the first time asked me if this was Michael and I thought it was a funny name for such a serious theme to paint.

Cacao Rocks says:

“All this series of work started when I was studying at the school of photography and video art. I was doing a project called Negatives. I was reversing pictures to negatives colours. On my daylight pictures of the island landscapes and the people, the colours of Blue, black, grey, golden and white were dominating the composition. So I decided to use them on my paintings. Then I took a picture of the first painting and reversed it into negative colours, I found this very interesting. Then I moved to Germany for a while and I was feeling very homesick so I started painting Greek landscapes by using architectural elements of the Cyclades.

This painting is an imaginary landscape by using an architectural element of the Paraportiani church in Mykonos with an Evil eye that I found out to be a very old tradition which was lost in the prehistoric times in Greece and other countries.”
